Terms of Service Effective date: September 11, 2026
Welcome to Owl Gossip, operated by Jeremy Osgood, a sole proprietor in Brentwood, Tennessee (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) cover your use of owlgossip.com (the “Site”) and anything you buy from us. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. What We Sell
Owl Gossip is a physical mail service. Everything we sell is printed and mailed through the United States Postal Service (USPS). Nothing is digital or emailed.
- The Postcard: one numbered 4×6 wildlife photo postcard each month, with the story of the sighting, the species, and the park on the back.
- The Field Dispatch: that month’s photo postcard with the back left blank so it can be mailed on, plus a double-sided field letter with a hand-drawn map of the sighting, mailed in a kraft envelope.
Both carry the same animal each month. Prices include U.S. postage:

2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to buy. Our mail is made for children and adults alike, but the purchaser must be an adult who manages the order and any recipient information.
3. Monthly Plans and Automatic Renewal
- Monthly plans renew automatically. We charge the payment method you used at checkout once a month, on the date of your original order, until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from the link in your receipt email, from your customer account at owlgossip.com/customer-dashboard, or by emailing jeremy@owlgossip.com. Cancelling stops all future charges.
- When you cancel, the month you’ve already paid for still mails. We don’t give partial refunds on monthly plans.
- If we ever raise the price of a monthly plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you have time to cancel.
4. Prepaid Terms (2, 6, or 12 Months)
- Prepaid terms are paid once and never renew. You will not be charged again.
- A prepaid term includes one mailing per month for the number of months purchased, starting with your first mailing (see section 5).
- If you want to stop a prepaid term early, we refund the issues that haven’t mailed yet. See our Returns and Refunds Policy.
5. Mail Schedule
- Your first mailing goes out within 2 business days of your order. It counts as that month’s mailing.
- After that, mail leaves on the 8th of each following month. If the 8th falls on a Sunday or a federal holiday, it mails the next business day.
- Example: whether you order on September 3 or September 20, your first mailing goes out right away and your next one leaves October 8.
6. Gifts
- You can send any plan to someone else. Enter the recipient’s name and mailing address at checkout, and add a note in the gift field if you like.
- Receipts and account emails go to the purchaser, never in the recipient’s envelope.
- The purchaser manages the plan, including address changes, cancellation, and refunds.
7. Shipping and Addresses
- We mail to U.S. addresses only, including PO boxes, APO/FPO/DPO, and U.S. territories. We do not ship outside the United States. See our Shipping Policy.
- You’re responsible for giving us accurate addresses for yourself and any gift recipient. Please make changes at least 48 hours before the 8th. We’re not responsible for mail sent to an address that wasn’t updated in time.
8. Payment and Taxes
- Prices are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed through SureCart using Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- Postage is included in every price. Sales tax is added for Tennessee addresses.
- By choosing a monthly plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method each month until you cancel.
9. Affiliate Program
We run an affiliate program through SureCart for people who share Owl Gossip with their audience. If you join as an affiliate, these terms apply to you:
- Commission: 15% of the purchase price (before sales tax) on orders placed through your referral link or affiliate coupon code.
- Renewals: for monthly plans, you also earn 15% on each renewal payment for 365 days from the customer’s first purchase.
- Tracking: a referral is credited if the customer buys within 30 days of clicking your link.
- Payouts: we pay monthly through PayPal once your approved balance reaches $25. Balances under $25 carry over to the next month.
- Reversals: commissions on refunded or charged-back orders are reversed. You can’t earn commission on your own purchases.
- Disclosure: you must clearly tell your audience you earn a commission (for example, “I earn a commission if you order through my link”), as required by FTC guidelines.
- Not allowed: spam, misleading claims, promises we don’t make on the Site, bidding on “Owl Gossip” in paid search ads, or posting codes to coupon sites without our written permission.
- Independence and taxes: affiliates are independent, not employees or agents of Owl Gossip, and are responsible for their own taxes. We may ask for a W-9 before paying out.
- We may approve or decline applications, change commission terms with 30 days’ notice, and end any affiliate’s participation for breaking these terms. Approved commissions on valid sales made before termination will still be paid unless the termination is for fraud or misconduct.
10. Intellectual Property
All photographs, writing, maps, drawings, postcard designs, and field dispatch content are the original work of Jeremy Osgood and are protected by copyright. Your purchase lets you keep, display, and enjoy the physical items personally. You may not reproduce, scan for distribution, or commercially use any Owl Gossip content without written permission. Mailing a Field Dispatch postcard on to a friend is exactly what it’s for.
11. Prohibited Conduct
Don’t misuse the Site, interfere with its operation, use it for anything unlawful, or resell our products or content without permission.
12. Disclaimers
The Site and our products are provided “as is.” We mail on schedule, but we don’t control USPS and can’t guarantee delivery times. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these Terms.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Site or our products is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version. If a change materially affects an active monthly plan, we’ll email you before it applies.
